1. A body lighter than water, yet
Weighed against it, all loses weight

2. The loss balances the light and tops it
A part of the second remains in excess

3. So both in water are heavier than both
The weight of the heavy, when air is its place

4. And both are wholes, that being their part
So the part comes to be less than its whole

5. And of necessity the part exceeds
Any whole by inverting them, that being its likeness

6. And if you consider the matter, it is easy for you to
Keep them without weight, so inform him

7. Thus you see the whole as nonexistent, though
Existence through it gains the least

8. And to whoever brings us proof of this
Favor belongs, and we thank him as befits him
