From where the hand of the oppressor extended to you

2. Until he wept with the wailers making
His tears the rain of the pouring clouds

3. O the dearest on his forehead, nay the precious pearl
Around his neck, not of arranged jewelry

4. If time is crying you, do not ask
About our state in your accumulated misfortunes

6. With spilled tears and snatched ardency
Sad and grieving absence and silence

7. Which virtues were not qualities of yours
As if your clay was pure virtues

Belittled in the station of the grand

10. The scent of traits, gentle being, as
The flowers diffused amid the breezes

11. Courageous, generous handed, traits
Elevated to the highest ancestry of nobles

12. Pure of conscience, loyal hearted
Chaste, wise opinion, careful

13. To him belong distinction, vigilance, sublimity
Glory, generosity, wonderful conclusiveness

14. Tempted by benefiting people, passionate
About fulfilling needs and bearing difficulties

15. Unique in manners and etiquette, flawless
By any dispraiser or blamer

16. Time peeled for him fresh blooming youth
Of soft quality before the insisting garments

17. As the sword sheathed in scabbards
And the moon shrouded in the shadows of clouds

18. A mountain in Egypt which fell so the
Pyramids did not feel safe after its demolisher

19. His tragedy magnified and his affliction revered
Among Arabs in wealth and non-Arabs

20. Great misfortune unmatched by misfortunes
Between calamities and unparalleled resolves

21. The days knotted in their strength with it
A tight knot unfastened by any splitter

22. The night of anguish darkened with it and thus
We see him like the dream of the sleeper

23. He moved to the house of eternity, departing
The house of misery, so he won lasting glory

24. The heavenly hosts cheered for Gabriel
They congratulated and smiled with joyful faces

25. For meeting him at the horizon, a hitting
Of auspicious omen, and for losing him on earth, a hitting of misfortune

26. Patience, O his loved ones! But do you have
A heart safe with patience for him

27. So go -may God shepherd you- from the renewed
Remembrance over long durations of time

28. And over your grave from the highest heavens
Permission was granted for the rain of mercies to pour
