And the summer breeze for cooling

8. Egypt, by my life, is the Kaaba of archers
And the attainment of hopes and desires

9. In proximity and distance for the visitor
And resident of cities and settlements

10. Its days in winter are like holidays
We spend enjoying them briefly

11. The noble awaits the absentee
As if he has an appointment with him

12. Blessed is its calm night
Clear of severe cold

13. Its lights are eternally ablaze
With no need for replenishment

14. Like suns in the distance
And in the midst of scorching heat

15. Rhymed verse in constant flow
As if you ascended on a pulley

16. To the meadows of the seven strong ones
So night there is like day in the open

17. As if stripped of mourning clothes
Yes, then how much happiness

18. Echoing from the timber
As if cheering from atop a valley

19. Or like a poet from the desert
Standing loudly calling

20. The people of poetry present and absent
So the skilled one breaks into song

21. As if it were the skilled songster
Answering him with the noble steeds

22. As if they were precious gems on horse necks
Of overlapping rhymes, strong handles

23. Solid poles and firm structure
The igniting poet, flint and steel

24. Inherited from fathers and forefathers

25. You would think it a wine shop
So the summoner called for wine

26. And many a refined beauty in soft dresses
Visited you at night in your darkness

27. Not from fright but from ink pots
Fearing spies and surveillance

28. Wrapped up in her cloak

29. Like the gaze of critics
In her hands two cups of roses

30. Of wine and nectar
She captured my heart in the dark

31. And my eyelids for sleep
