١. ما كانَ احلى المُنى لو أَنَّ لذَّتها
بعد الحصول تساوي لذَّةَ الاملِ
2. But ever Destiny is grudging with her gifts,
And after she has led us to their height
٢. لكنَّ للدهر بخلاً بالمُنى ابداً
فان يُنِلها يَدُم معها على البَخلِ
