أيها الشيخ دعوة من محب
قد طاف بكعبة الكرى طيفهم
يا من أهواه وهو عني لاهي
لا هب من الحمى نسيم وسرى
بالذل رفعت قصة الهجر إليه
حيا وسقى الحمى سحاب هامي
زعمتم بأن النوق واف حنينها
وصل الكتاب كتابكم فأخذته
قلت للسائق المجد بليل
ومهفهف عبث السقام بجفنه
متى لا ح لي من أبرق الجزع بارق
أيا شعب نجد رقادي حرام
برحت حتى برح الوجد بي
ما حلت عن عهدهم يوما فلم جالوا
نعمت بكم والدهر في غفلانه
يا عز ما فعل الزمان بصحبة
يا واحد الحسن ارحم واحد الكمد
يا دير يا قوت بالرهابين
من لدم القتيل
أتأذن أن أشكو إليك ولوعي
قاتلي لا برئت من أوزاري
ألا خاد أعللها بنجد
تأمل كيف يبعث لي غراما
فديت من حبي له
أتاني الغلام وما قصرا
كذا من حاز في الحسن الكمالا
لاموا على حب المليح وعنفوا
