9. By God, an orphan in Iraq withering away
Yearning for the Muhassab’s water, wandering.

10. He longs for Baghdad and the abode of Tuweila’
Alas! The son of the abode from Baghdad.

11. All dwellings and countries are dear to me
But none like my homeland and its states.

12. The one with swaying limbs, envied by the branches
When his upright body sways restlessly.

13. An idol who allowed me to go astray, his face
Among the wonders is that the guide leads astray.

14. Had it not been for him, lamps were not known, and I did not refuse
While yearning is the stuffing of my pillow and mattress.

15. O you, the young man whose glances
Make the lions attack the lion tamers.

16. And the healer of my sickness, when day breaks
Cries over me from agony, my companion.

17. By God, my liver which your cheek’s embers burned
Futilely with a flaming coal.

19. That always look at me with a resentful eye.
No happy one to hope for, nor a suffering one

20. To complain to about the heat of my liver.

God is Greatest! How many favors Ahmad has

22. Revealed like necklaces on steeds.
Like the dawn on the day of Naba, and like rainfall on the day

23. Of A’la, and like thunder on the day of dispersal.
No wonder that the steed does what his hands contain

24. He is the son of steeds.
If you want to ask about his lineage, then ask

25. About the white-faced and brown flea-bitten.
He who made nights from him like days

26. And days like feasts.
With the sword, an excellent striker, and with wealth, a generous granter,

27. And with knowledge, the clearest guide.
O seeker of hopes, he breaks through

28. From blaming to helping.
The emigrant emigrated from his land

29. An alley comes near him and an alley distances.
He seeks the generous, the noble, the owners of supremacy

30. The benefactors, the providers of provision.
Stop by Ahmad, you will find abundant honor

31. And attaining hopes and fulfilling purpose.
O Master, from whose hand

32. The hadith of generosity flows authentically.
I complain to you of a condition that you would not have cast

33. To test with the aggression of enviers.
Far be it from your noble nature to refrain

34. From the approach of aid and prosperity.
So by your protected favor I gained supremacy

35. That the eyes of enemies aspire to.
You are the one, had it not been for the generosity of your palm

36. I would not have touched soft carpets and rugs.
By the shining white, by the eloquent horseman

37. On the day of dew and the day of executioner.
Protector of the guest, gallant of the beautiful, achiever
