من شل بقعا على جنبيه ماطاقها
She who wears a spot on her cheek cannot bear it
شر المذاهب مذهب القبائل
The worst of doctrines is the doctrine of tribes
عفيف الدين هل لي من دواء
Afif Al-Din, is there a cure for me?
عسى عسى نظرة في الحال
Perhaps, perhaps a glance now
كلنا أموات لكن بخت من قدم إحسان
We are all dead, but blessed is he who did good
باسمك اللهم أبدى ما خطر
In your name O Allah, I express what came to my mind
وليس للمرء بعد الموت من شجر
After death, man has no trees left
ألا يا صاحبي قد ضاق صدري
Oh my friend, my chest is tight
ياالله بنفحة من المولى
O God, with a breath from the Master
يا محمد لقينا الخير كله في الخير
Oh Muhammad, we found all good in good
عظيم الفضل يا رب
Great is Your grace, O Lord
ان لي في فضل ذي الفضائل أمل
I have hope in the One of great virtue
يارب يا رب يا غفار
O Lord, O Lord, O Forgiver
إن لي في الله ظنا حسنا

أيامن شأنه ستر العيوب
O He who hides faults
يا رب يا رب فرج كربة المكترب
Oh Lord, oh Lord, relieve the distress of the troubled one
بوبكر سر في طريق الله رب العباد
O Abu Bakr, travel secretly in the way of Allah, Lord of all beings
عسى رحمة من ربنا تغمر البلد
May mercy from our Lord envelop the land
لك الخير يا عثمان وفقت للرشد
You have done well, Othman, as you have attained righteousness
تركت نحت القوافي من معادنها
I left the rhymes' chiseling from their ores
الدنيا عبور
Life is but a passage
من أراد لهم والغم الكبير
Whoever wants great sorrow for them
يا غياث المستغيثين أغث
O Succorer of those who seek aid, give succor
يا طالب السكنى بوادي الأحقاف
O seeker of dwelling in the valley of Al-Ahqaf
أيها الشخص العقول استمع مالك أقول
O wise person, listen to what I say
إن تطلب الهم كله يا فتى والغم
Roses are red, violets are blue, I don't speak Arabic, so I can't translate this poem for you.
سالم عوض باحويرث بالسلامه وصل
Salem Awad Bahweirth, farewell and arrived safely
يا لطيف الطف بي فيجميع أحوالي
O Gentle One who cares for me in all my states
إن الفتن فيها المحن من كل فن
Temptations bring troubles of every kind
الحمدلله ذي الآلاء والنعم
Praise be to Allah, Possessor of bounties and favors
عيدروس اشرح بالك واترك الهم والغم
Eidroos, relieve your heart and leave worries and sorrows
فوضت أمري إلى من هو بحالي عليم
I entrusted my affair to the One who knows my state well
ذه عرشه مامثلها عرشه
This is a throne, there is no throne like it
يا من له الخلق الحسن والخلق والعقل ومن
O you of beautiful character, morals, reason and understanding
الحمد للواحد الرحمن
Praise be to the One, the Merciful
الحمدلله على ما أولى
Praise be to Allah for what He has bestowed
يا سعد قلبي ما سلا ولا طاب
O Saad my heart is not happy or good
أيها العبد إن شئت الأمان
O servant, if you want safety
جاء الفرج مره من غير ماحسبان
Relief came once unexpectedly
من كان همته الدنيا ليجمعها
He who makes worldly goods his goal
يا مريدين السعاده والتعلم والعباده
O seekers of happiness, knowledge, and worship,
يا محمد إذا شيت الهنا والمبره
O Muhammad, if you desire safety and goodness
يا سالم إن شئت السلامه
O Salim, if you want safety
جزى الله المصائب كل خير
May God reward afflictions with all good
ألايا رب يا سامع دعائي
O Lord, O Hearer of my prayers
الحمدلله مولانا الرحيم الغفور
Praise be to Allah, Our Lord Most Merciful and Forgiving
تجري الليالي ولا تدري بعدتها
The nights pass by, unaware how far they've gone
عسى فرج من المولى القريب
May relief come soon from the Master
عسى نفحة الرحمن تأت من الرب
May the breeze of the Most Merciful come from the Lord
الشيء صعب على من ليس يألفه
The thing is hard on one not used to it
احمدالله يا احمد إذا شئت
Praise God, O Ahmed, if you wish
يافرد يا قهار اكشف الشر والأشرار
O mighty one, reveal the evil and evildoers
سلام على أهل الظنون الجميلة
Peace be upon the people of beautiful thoughts,
الهامشي قال إني لأهل وقتي قال
Alhamashi said, "I belong to my time," he said
شابالزم الدار ما باخرج أنا أكدار
The house was enough, I didn't have to leave
عليك بذكر الله يا طالب الأجر
Remember God, O seeker of reward,
يا طالبا جنة الدنيا وراحتها
O seeker of the paradise of this world and its comfort
عن الناس لا تسأل ولا عن فعالهم
Do not ask about people or their deeds
الله كان ولا شيء معه
God was and nothing was with Him
ضاعت الأعمار في قيل وقال
The years have passed in gossip and lies
صلة الأرحام بالعلم الذي
The kinship of knowledge benefits
الحمدلله ظني في الجميل جميل
Praise be to Allah, my hopes for kindness are kind
وصل سرمد وسلم كلما غرد
His permanence arrived and blessed whenever the bird sings
خير لاأمور أوساطها
The middle way is best in all matters
شاباترك الناس تاجرهم مع الكناس
Young man, leave people to their trading with deceit
بالله يا طالب التقوى ونيل القبول
O seeker of piety and attaining acceptance
يا حسرتي ضاع عمري في البطالات
Oh my sorrow, my life was wasted in laziness
خذ من الوقت ما سمح واعذران
Take from time what is allowed
مسكين مسكين من قرب إلى المجزره
Poor poor soul who nears the slaughter
ماذا يقول الناس في طريق
What do people say on the path
خل المقادير تمضي لا تغالبها
Let the decrees take their course, do not resist them
يارب يا رب يا عالم بحال الفقير
O Lord, O Lord, O Knower of the state of the poor
فاز المخفون في اليوم العظيم الطويل
The hidden one prevailed on the great and long day,
نسأل من الله مولانا الكريم
We ask from Allah, our generous Master
يا عمران زرت سيدنا الرسول
O Imran, you visited our Prophet
الحمد لله ذا سؤالي وذا أملى
Praise be to God, this is my question and my hope
متى متى ياسا كنين سمعون
When, when O Yasa will you be heard
إن هم أتوك أراد منك أوطارا
If they come to you wanting mischief
يا رب واحفظ لي أولادي
O Lord protect my children
رب لا خيبت آمال الفقير
My Lord, do not disappoint the hopes of the poor,
رضوان لا زلت راضي بالقضا والقدر
I am still content with fate and destiny
عسى عسى نفحة الرحمن
May the breeze of the Merciful come
رسول الله جئنا زائر ينا
Messenger of Allah, we have come to you as visitors
يارب يارب ياوهاب ياستار
O Lord, O Lord, O Bestower, O Veiler
الحمدلله حمدا كل آن
All praise be to Allah, praise forever
جاء نصر الله والفتح المبين
The clear conquest and victory of God has come
الحمدلله لا يحصى على الله ثناه
Praise be to Allah, His praise cannot be counted
يانوران شيئت النور
O light, you have illuminated
يا باسلامه قل عسى السلام
O Basalama, say: may there be peace
يارب أعنا يامعين
O Lord, help us, O Supporter
وفي المساجد سر ما جلست بها
In mosques, there is a secret in sitting there
أحمد السقاف أبشر لا نخاف
Ahmad al-Saqaf, rejoice, do not fear
أتسألني ولست لذاك أهلا
You ask me, yet I'm not worthy
يا علي ماتوا اللي مانباهم يموتون
O Ali those who were not wished to die, have died
باسمك الله ابتدى
In your name, my Lord, I begin
إلى الله أشكو ماهو أعلم به مني
To God I complain of what He knows better than I,
أدركوني أدركوني
Realize me, realize me
أسأل الرحمن لا تسأل سواه
Ask the Most Merciful, do not ask anyone else
يا أرحم الراحمين يا أرحم الراحمين
O Most Merciful of those who show mercy, O Most Merciful of those who show mercy
الهاشمي قال خوطاهر
Al-Hashimi said Khawtahr
يا حسين انشرح لك واشرح الصدر بالنور
O Hussein open your heart to me and illuminate my chest with light
يا صاح فك الناس والزم الدار
O friend, avoid people and stay home
واعلم أن الصبر للنجح ضمين
Know that patience leads to success,
أياسيدي هل دعوة لاسيركم
O my masters, is there a call to your prisoner
ياكريم الوجه ضاقت وأنت بالعالم عليم
O the one with the beautiful face, while you are all-knowing of this world
خذ من الوقت ما سمح
Take from time what is allowed,
محسن أحسن عسى ربك يجازيك بإحسان
Oh Mohsen, excel and hopefully your Lord will reward you with kindness
كدود كدود القزينسج دائما
The silkworm, always weaving,
أحمد السقاف إن شئت الوصال
Ahmad Al-Saqaf, if you want union
ياطالبا للوصيه
O seeker of guidance
إذا شئت السلام فالزم الدار
If you want peace, stay home,
ضاعت الأعمار في كسب الذنوب
Our lives were lost in gaining sins
قالوا غدا عيد ماذا أنت لابسه
They said tomorrow is a holiday, what will you wear?
يجمعهم طار ومع ذلك لهم أوطار
They gather though they have different feathers
ياوجيه نشرح لك فإن هذا بك أولى
O my beloved, let me explain to you, for this is more proper for you
يا طبيب القلوب قلبي عليل
O healer of hearts, my heart is sick
الحمد لله الجواد الكريم
Praise be to Allah, the Generous, the Benevolent
أعرف الوقت والزمان لتسلم
I know the time and era to submit
أشكو إلى الواحد الرحمن
I complain to the One, the Merciful
ما في فعايلي شيء يعجب
There is nothing in my deeds that impresses,
ألا يا ابن العفيف يا
O son of chastity, O Shihāb al-Dīn O Ahmad
زينة العلم العمل
Knowledge's adornment is deed
يا عظيم الفضل يا معطي
O Magnificent Bestower, O Giver of Bounty,
ضاقت أسباب البرايا
The means of goodness have narrowed
يا من عوائدك الجميل يا رب
O Lord whose custom is benevolence
وراك ياذاك جالس في بلد جانبي
Behind you, o you who sit in a faraway land
يا من له الحول والقوه
O You Who has power and strength
يا قريب الفرج يارب يافارج الهم
O Lord, Reliever of distress, Remover of worries,
يامجمل لا تهمل
O beautiful one, do not neglect
وصلاة الله ربي والسلام
May God's prayers and peace
إنما الدنيا حراف وهراف وزراف
This world is but nonsense and vanity,
هل ترى يا كاحل المقل
O you with tired eyes,
فيارب يارحمن امنن بتوبة
O Lord, O Most Merciful, grant
جاء نصر الله والفتح القريب
The victory of God and triumph is near
يا أهل العقول السالمه وأهل القلوب العالمه
O people of sound minds, peace be upon you, and people of enlightened hearts,
إليك المعذرة يا عالم الحال
I beg your pardon, O world of the present
أيها الوفد إلى البيت الحرام
O pilgrims to the Sacred House,
الناس بحر عميق والبعد منهم سفينه
People are a deep sea, and distance from them is a ship
يا هاشم بن شيخ بن هاشم
O Hashim son of Sheikh Hashim
حسين إعلم أن الشيطنه قد لها ناس
Hussein, know that evil has people
عجبا للزمان مع أهليه
How strange are the times and its people
يا طالب الخير في الدينا ويوم النشور
O seeker of goodness in religion and on the Day of Resurrection
الحمد لله لا سيبي ولا حولي
Praise be to God, I have no control or power
فاء الفتاة سقاني
The young woman’s mouth quenched me,
إذا شئت الدواء لكل داء
ياالله بنظرة من الرحمن
يبسم الله مفتاح
الحمدلله هذا الوقت وقت السكوت
من يعمر الدنيا فقير مقمور
على نحت القوافي من معادنها
بالهادي البشير عليه صلى وسلم
يقول طاهر عسى الله يعين
بالله يا طالب التقوى ونيل القبول
إن كان لك نية فلي نيتين
نعم الله على الخلق كثيره
أرى الشخص دابا ساعيا في حظوظه
ياالله بالعياده
أني أنا السائل الطلاب
إياك إياك من سراق الأوقات
يا تاركين الصلاة
هذا وإن كنت أنا الظالم
إلى الله أشكو داء قلبي وقالبي
ما بال آفات اللسان لسانه
خذ من الناس جانبا
صلاة ربي على المختار
يا ابن أبي بكر ما طب صلاح القلوب
يا غربة الدين هل من يرحم الغربا
ولما نأت داري وشطت مسافتي
عسى نفحة الرحمن تأتي بسرعة
أنني لمقصر وبنقصي
أنني لمقصر
يا رب جئناك نطلب منك مالايعد
أشكو إلى الله الرحيم الودود
محمد إن شئت تلحق بالرجال
الحمدلله هادينا سبيل الرشاد
وصيتي يا علي
وصل الكتاب مسجع ومحرر
يا خليلي إن شئت كل السرور
ذاوقت ما فيه شى يعجب
كلام الناس ما له راس فاترك
الحمدلله حمدا موافيا بالنوال
أنحت بباب الكريم الأمل
طلب الراحة في الدنيا محال
حصحص الحق يا فلان بالمسير بالرحيل
الحمد لله مسعف كل سائل بسول
قلت الراحة في هذا الزمن
كف السؤال عن الزمان وأهله
راحت الراحات أجمع
ذاوقت يا صاح مما به فؤادي صاح
لأنها اوزار فيها الضرر والأضرار
الحذر كل الحذر كل الحذر من
الحذر كل الحذر كل الحذر
رب يا عالم بحالي يا عليم
الزم البيت لا تخرج من البيت تندم
عباد الله جيناكم قصدنا طلبناكم
يا طالب الأيصا هداك الله خذ مني كلام
يا تار كالصلاة الفرض كم ذا حرام
نطلب من الله أن نترك فضول الكلام
إلى الله أشكو ما بقلبي من الهم
جاء الفرج زال الحرج
سامحوني واعذروني من رأى حالي عذرني
ياذاكر الله يا بشراك نلت الأمان
ياتاركا للمدارس ليس هذا حسن
يارب يارب جيناطا معين
يقول بن هاشم وصلني كتاب
رأيت كتاب آفات اللسان
كل تزودوولى وين جاابن حسين
يا رب يارب فرج حزن ذا المحزون
استغفر الله من ذنوبي
احذر لسانك أيها الإنسان
أرجو من الرحمن سبحانه
زينة العلم العباده والتواضع والزهاده
واعتقد أن الخلايق أجمعين
ياعظيم الفضل يا معطي الجزيل
يا أيها الإنسان
