1. The years have passed in gossip and lies
And foolish, misguided affairs

2. And meddling, objecting to destiny
And nonsense and rubbish and trifles

3. That cause sorrow in this life and on
The Day we're resurrected and deserve torment

4. Does a reasonable man accept this
Wasting time and breath on nonsense

5. On worries and griefs of this world
Then tomorrow made to drink disaster

6. So be silent, do not speak and isolate yourself
And leave the blamable in words or deeds

7. And leave people and turn away from them and do not
Mix with people, so listen to this advice

8. And persist in seclusion and leave all meddling
And fear God, the Great, the Exalted

9. He is the treasure the like of which
Benefits man now and in the end

10. Complete wealth, complete wealth
Is in piety, oh preacher, take it as capital

11. He is the Everlasting, all else perishes
Foolish trifles that do not last

12. And befriend the Merciful, befriend no other
And ask the Merciful, you will attain the gift

13. And seek the Merciful, glorious is His mention
If you want, He will give generous rewards

14. And remember the Merciful secretly and openly
Sitting, standing, coming and going

15. Everything perishes except God
So persist in remembering Him at all times

16. Nothing but the Bountiful God lives
The Everlasting is your God, Lord of Majesty

17. We only recompense what you do, so be
Occupied with what benefits you, oh man of works

18. Our Lord, our Lord, our Lord
Lord, make us steadfast when death comes

19. And seal our lives with good and be
Forgiving, Lord, of heavy burdens

20. Do not punish us for evil deeds
They are, our Lord, the worst traits

21. And may God's prayers grace Ahmad
And God's peace for as long as bats fly left

22. And on his family and companions
And his wives for as long as wealth lasts

23. And to my Lord be praise and thanks for
Blessings that continue and endless grace
