1. O Muhammad, if you desire safety and goodness
And wellbeing and protection from all harm

2. Leave vain habits and customs once
Make the most of time, do not seek evil in time

3. Be at peace with people and you will be safe, for I have some experience
Do not contend, be detached as circumstance reports

4. And seek knowledge and act upon it to gain goodness
From your Lord and be obedient to His prohibitions and command

5. And thank Allah when He has covered the faults of all
His might encompasses all, His coercion envelops all

6. None have anything with Him, not an atom's weight or a speck
So take Him as your companion in evening and morrow

7. And seclude yourself at His door so that you meet His gaze
You will attain your hopes and desires without hardship

8. And beware laziness and its prominence or fame
And withdraw and detach without pride or arrogance

9. Do not socialize or you will meet with injustice and gloom
And occupy yourself with what benefits you, learn and understand it

10. Do not digress to others or you will meet disgrace
And strive in deed, word and thought

11. Do not be lazy or miss out on virtue in a period
And follow the way of the Guide in ease and unease

12. Do not oppose Him in anything, in secret or openly
Bless my Lord upon him as long as a branch sways

13. Or a rider travels in the night, seeking his tomb
