1. Praise be to Allah, Possessor of bounties and favors
And grace, generosity, kindness and nobility

2. Much praise, great, everlasting, eternal
That cannot be counted by pens or words

3. Repeated at all times, never depleted
Lasting forever, like antiquity

4. Glorified is He! I cannot count His praise nor
Hope for other than Him for myself or all nations

5. What can I say and what can I praise Him with?
My words and mouth cannot contain His praise

6. I admit my inadequacy and shortcomings
Characterized by major sins and blemishes

7. I hope my God, by His grace alone, will have mercy on me
Pardon and protect me from wrath

8. And take my soul with goodness and forgive my sins
And heal my heart and body from all illness

9. O Lord, O Ever-Living, O Eternal Refuge, O Self-Subsisting
O Knower of my state in existence or absence

10. I complain to You of matters You know
So fulfill my needs, O Apportioner of shares

11. Followed by blessings and peace upon the Prophet
The chosen, singularly wise messenger

12. And his family and companions, as long as pilgrims journey to the Ancient House,
And yearn for its holy precincts
