1. Afif Al-Din, is there a cure for me?
For I have ruined myself with mistakes,

2. And my heart has hardened, and I have things,
That provoke screaming and crying,

3. Neither have my eyes wept them, nor my heart,
Have you seen an illness like my illness?

4. So if you can prescribe a treatment, then do so,
Otherwise, grant me with prayer,

5. Perhaps the Generous Lord brings forth favor,
Without cause, generously granting healing,

6. For I have much hope in His favor,
And in His generosity, my hope is good,

7. Do not disappoint my assumption, O my Master,
For I have spoken the words of the barefoot one,

8. And when I was confused in my affair and matter,
I began crying for help,

9. And I have none but Your favor as a succorer,
And with me is pure poverty for giving,

10. My intercessor is better than the one who bore Hawwa,
And the best intercessor on the Day of Recompense,

11. Muhammad, for whom there is great character,
For whom there is remembrance in praise,

12. And the one who was given countless sciences,
For which the minds of the wise are confused,

13. And how many miracles came to him,
With which the Most High singled him out,

14. Of them is what the honest scholar [al-Qadi 'Iyad] related to us,
With healing,

15. Intercessor of the sinners, to You I plead,
So stand for me in ease and hardship,

16. For You have not ceased to divide the gifts,
And not ceased to relieve afflictions,

17. With what shall I praise You, and praise of You,
Has come to us in the Book from the sky,

18. Upon you, may God send blessings always,
Morning and evening,

19. Likewise upon your Family and Companions, excellent guides,
The successful ones in following,
