With pardon, forgiveness, favor, and grace

4. For You are the hope in every state
To You I flee in ease and tribulation

5. O Tender, Gentle One, O He
Whose bounty upon us pours and flows

6. To You I complain of my sins and wrongs
I do not complain to a relative or in-law

7. Nor close or distant people
Nor judge, authority or ruler

8. My Lord’s knowledge sufficed me from asking
Or rambling incoherently

9. How many disputed me without speaking
And brought much good without asking

10. And how much harm was dispelled purely by grace
Thoughts that never crossed my mind

11. So praise, and praise, and praise
To our Master, the Bountiful, the Sublime

12. My God, my Master, be for me, for I
Am a poor man seeking refuge from horrors

13. For who do I have, O Generous One, who do I have
If my deeds and states betray me

14. So be for me, O Great in Bounty, be for me
Grant me the greatest of Your great bounties

15. And do not disappoint my hopes, my Master
Or belie my aspirations and dreams

16. And seal for me with good and blessing
When our lifespans and terms come to an end

17. And may my Lord bless
Every time the branch of a tree sways
