1. Praise be to Allah, Our Lord Most Merciful and Forgiving
Praise be to Allah, of endless grace and generosity

2. Praise be to Allah, as many as all the females and males
Praise be to Allah, as many as all the blessings and boons

3. Praise be to Allah, how much veils He has draped over us
Praise be to Allah, how much evil He has kept from us

4. My Lord, to You belongs all praise in this life and on Resurrection Day
My Lord, to You belongs all praise, eternal as time itself

5. My Lord, to You belongs all praise, as many as all the leaves and birds
I admit to You my shortcomings, though Your praise I do confer

6. I am the forgetful one, the cruel one, the unjust ingrate
To truth and honesty I aspire; all else is pretense and lies

7. To break a promise is vile; so too lying and immorality
How often we pray with no presence of heart or mindfulness

8. We know yet we do not act; arrogance clouds our moral sense
We act, yet are heedless, as though unaware of the grave's offense

9. Our thoughts immersed in fleeting worldly recompense
How long, my Lord, ere this gloom be pierced by Your light's radiance?

10. O Lord, O Lord, Knower of hearts, see our repentance
Reform our hearts and raise us to Your lofty eminence

11. Expand our breasts with surrender to Your governance
We accept Your decree and trust in all that's apparent or hidden

12. None but You, O Lord Forbearing, do our eyes envision
We follow Your law, never deviating from Your volition

13. We see tribulations as gain, so manifold the rewards therein
For You are The Just; exalted are You from all injustice or wrong

14. In them are secrets unwritten, beyond what books can begin
To fathom. So be You His servant, enjoying His gifts and delights

15. Submitting to His will, you gain contentment and cheer
From Allah on Resurrection Day await paradise and pure spouses

16. While those who reject what is ordained shall taste only ruin and woe
The anxious and worried whom bitterness wells up from below

17. Seem locked in perpetual grief, confusion and sorrow
Yet Allah is displeased with those discontent in their plight

18. So cease your rejection and make peace with what is right
The root of all sin and tribulation and evil so rife

19. Is love of this world, though your Lord has promised you safe passage in the Hereafter
Of your worldly possessions you take only what you require

20. That which comes before goes, and what's left may expire
What is behind, beware, may fuel the fires of Hell higher

21. For this world is a place of vanity and false desire
O Lord, erase the heavy sins that virtue in me smother

22. Accept my repentance and cleanse me with absolution
And when my time comes to leave, let me conclude with what's good

23. And bless my Prophet morning and night, that epitome of virtue
And his Family, Companions and all who his path continue

24. And praise be to Allah, as many as whales swimming in the ocean's breadth
As many as raindrops, trees and seeds
