1. The kinship of knowledge benefits
The kin when Judgment Day arrives

2. A kinship unlike any other kinship
Through which one resides in Paradise

3. And through it one knows what benefits him
And protects him from all sinful wrong

4. So listen closely and lend it your ears
And follow the advice of that imam

5. May God inspire him with happiness
As the guide of mankind, the best of men

6. While depriving the harsh and wretched ones
Who shunned the light and tended to darkness

7. For knowledge is a dear friend and companion
On your every journey and stop

8. A caring, loyal companion
Who benefits without reward or provision

9. A guide, a vigilant guard
Who upholds pacts and wards off harm

10. It is shade, light and guidance
A life no pigeon can grasp

11. Cling to knowledge and do not replace it
Entrust it with your reins

12. It is the guide to goodness
The inheritance of the noble prophets

13. A bond unlike any other bond
Never torn or ripped apart

14. And know that the knowledge you apply
Not just the words your tongue imparts

15. For knowledge is to have awe and fear
O boy, truly fear your Lord

16. May God guide us and make us firm
And take us by the forelock to the highest place

17. May He conclude our lives with good
And protect us from all evil and affliction

18. And may He enable the country's guardians
To spread justice and subdue the tyrants

19. By the Messanger, the Chosen One, the Best of Creation
Ahmad, the Prophet, may peace be upon him

20. The prayers of God envelop him
His family and companions for eternity

21. And to my Lord belongs all perfect praise
As numerous as His great blessings
