- أرى البدر في أفق المسرة قد بداI see the full moon—on joy’s horizon it has risen.
- أكرم بهذا البيت بيت مكارمHonor this house, a house of honor,
- الخطب جل ومن يردهThe calamity is great—and who can avert it?
- الدهر أشرق بالسرور هلالهTime’s crescent shone with joy,
- الدهر في فرح بمولد أحمدTime rejoices at Ahmad's birth.
- السعد أقبل بالمسرة والهناGood fortune has come with joy and bliss.
- العيد أضحي معلناEid now makes its proclamation;
- إلى حيث ألقت رحلها أم قشعمTo where Umm Qash'am laid down her saddle,
- إليك أبث الشكر يابن الأماجدTo you I pour out my thanks, O son of the illustrious,
- إليك الزمان زها بالتصافيTo you time has come resplendent with joy
- إليك المعالي تنتمي والفضائلTo you belong the heights and the virtues
- إليك بهذا العام خير صفاءFor you this year, the finest goodwill.
- إليك مزيد الشوق يا بن مودتيTo you goes my growing longing, O son of my affection;

- اليوم وافى لهذا العيد إيناسToday cheer has come to this feast,

- أيا حامدا في العلاO Hamid, amid the heights,
- أيا حسنا أبشر فسعدك قد وفاO Hasan, rejoice, for your good fortune is now complete.

- أيا رب عدل والشهود عدولO Lord, just and the witnesses are just
- أيا طلعة العليا لنا بالصفا جوديO countenance of eminence, bestow serenity upon us.

- تأله في الورى فرعون موسىMoses’ Pharaoh claimed godhood among humankind.
- تجلت بهجة الدهرThe joy of the age shone forth
- جزى الله المحاكم كل خيرMay God reward the courts with every blessing,
- جميلا غدا إشراق مولد إصلاحThe radiance of Islah’s birth has become beautiful.
- جناب الخديو عاد في مصر فازدهىHis Highness the Khedive returned to Egypt and exulted,
- دار العلوم لها البشرى بطلعتكمDar al-Ulum has glad tidings at your arrival.
- دم في علاك محمدAbide forever in your exalted heights, Muhammad;
- رأيت أولى فضل ونخبة أخبارI saw men of merit and a select group of knowledgeable men.
- رأيت بأقدام الجميلة حمرةI saw redness on the beautiful woman's feet.
- رأيت مليحة كالغصن ماستI saw a beauty sway like a branch
- رجوتكمو لأمر أرنجيهI placed my hope in you for a matter I hope to attain;
- رقى أكمل الأفراح بشراك سيدThe fullest joy has risen—glad tidings to you, Sayyid!
- ركاب العلى في مصر باليمن شرفاThe cavalcade of glory graced Egypt with good fortune.
- رياض البها رقت بمولد زينبThe gardens of splendor grew delicate with Zaynab’s birth.
- سعد السعود لقد وافى بما وعداSaʿd al-Suʿūd has indeed fulfilled its promise,
- سعو الهنا لاحت بأعظم مولدThe [good fortunes] of joy shone at a most glorious birth,
- سعود الهنا وافت بأكرم مولودThe happy auspices of bliss arrived with a most noble newborn;

- شوقي إليك كثير ليس يحصرهMy longing for you is great; it cannot be contained
- عجبت لامة رضيت فساداI marveled at a nation that accepted corruption,
- عزاء عزاء أيها الشهم واحتسبTake comfort, take comfort, O gallant man, and seek God’s reward.
- علي أفقها الميمون شمس سرورناUpon its auspicious horizon, the sun of our joy
- على العلم حقا أن يديم بكاهLearning must indeed prolong its weeping.
- على شمس أفراح بها السعد مشهودA sun of joy with good fortune bearing witness
- علياك لليمن دامت يا خديويناMay your eminence endure in good fortune, O our Khedive.
- عوائق الدهر والأيام تمنعنيThe obstacles of time and days prevent me
- عيد عليك مباركBlessed be your feast,
- فالله يعلى قدرهMay God exalt his rank,
- قد مات رب العلا فليبكه الوطنThe lord of glory has died; let the homeland mourn him,
- قضى أحمد خير فريضة حجهAhmad fulfilled the finest obligation—his pilgrimage.
- كملت صفاتك فارتقت بك رتبةYour qualities reached perfection, and a rank rose high through you.
- كيف التخلص من قضاء اللهHow can one escape God's decree?
- لا يغررنك إذا ما استبدلوك بمنDo not be deceived when they replace you with someone
- لأحمد خيري تجلت سعودGood fortunes have shone forth for Ahmad Khayri,
- لخير الهنا أبهي تفوز بواسمFor bliss at its best, shine radiantly; may you prosper with Bāsim—with one who smiles—
- لعباسنا الثاني علا الفرمانFor our Abbas the Second, the firman has risen high,
- لقد مات أعلى الناس قدرا محمدMuhammad, highest of men in rank, has indeed died.
- لقد هان نفسي حال ضيقي وشدتيIndeed, my soul was brought low amid my distress and hardship.
- لك أحمد كمل الهناFor you, Ahmad, joy has become complete
- لك البشر متولى بنجلك أحمدJoy is yours, Mutawalli, in your son Ahmad.
- لك التهاني بما قد نلت من رتبCongratulations to you on the ranks you have attained.
- لك يا علي بكريمة وافي المنىWith a noble daughter, O Ali, your wishes are fulfilled.

- يا أحمدا وافت إليك مسرةO Ahmad, joy has come to you
- يا سيدا حاز العلاO master who has attained eminence,
- يا عليا إني المعالي ترقىO Ali, I affirm: you ascend to lofty heights.
- يا عليا لازلت خير مباركO Ali, may you ever remain the best of blessed men.
- يا معشر الإسلام هلت لكم بشرىO community of Islam, glad tidings have dawned for you,
- يا من أعيذ جماله بجمالهO you whose beauty I shield with your own beauty,
- يدوم خديوينا العزيز مكرماMay our beloved Khedive remain honored.
