ياO عَلياًAli لازلتmay you ever remain خَيرthe best of مُباركa blessed man
يا عَلياً لازلت خَير مُبارك
كُلevery عامyear وَلاand may not عدمناwe be deprived of اِعتِباركyour regard
كُل عام وَلا عدمنا اِعتِبارك
O Ali, may you ever remain the best of blessed men.
O Ali, you are still the best blessed one
Every year, may we never be deprived of your regard.
Every year we wish your wisdom endured
كُلevery عامyear نَراكwe see you فيهِin it سَعيداًhappy
كُل عام نَراك فيهِ سَعيداً
وَبِعزand with honor تَنالyou attain فيهِin it فَخاركyour glory
وَبِعز تَنال فيهِ فَخارك
Every year, may we see you happy in it,
Every year we see you happy in it
and with honor may you attain your glory in it.
And with glory you attain your pride
ذَلِكَthat العامyear فيin سُرورjoy جَديدnew
ذَلِكَ العام في سُرور جَديد
فَجَديرso worthy بِأَنof يَصونpreserving اِشتِهاركyour renown
فَجَدير بِأَن يَصون اِشتِهارك
That year is filled with renewed joy,
That year with new joy
so it is worthy of preserving your renown.
Is worthy of preserving your fame
فَهُوَfor it فيin بَهجةdelight عَلىabove كُلevery عامyear
فَهُوَ في بَهجة عَلى كُل عام
قَدhas تَقضىpassed وَلَمand did not يُلازمremain with منfrom اركunclear as written
قَد تَقضى وَلَم يُلازم من ارك
For in delight it stands above every year
It is in joy over every year
that has passed and did not remain with [unclear final phrase].
That has passed and did not stick to its pillars
فَلَكَso yours الصَفوunclouded joy وَالتَهانيand congratulations بِعامon a year
فَلَكَ الصَفو وَالتَهاني بِعام
مِنthrough مَعاليكyour noble qualities سَوفَwill يَعلىrise اِنتِصاركyour triumph
مِن مَعاليك سَوفَ يَعلى اِنتِصارك
So yours be unclouded joy and congratulations on a year.
For you are the clarity and congratulations of a year
Through your noble qualities, your triumph will rise.
From your greatness your victory will be high
دُمتmay you remain فيهِin it عَلىAli باشاPasha سَعيداًhappy
دُمت فيهِ عَلى باشا سَعيداً
وَجَليلاًand illustrious وَفيand in العُلاlofty rank لاnot تُشاركyou are rivaled
وَجَليلاً وَفي العُلا لا تُشارك
May you remain happy in it, Ali Pasha,
Stay in it happy and glorious
and illustrious, unrivaled in lofty rank.
And in the heights with no equal
وَلِسانand the tongue of السُعودgood fortune قَدhas قالsaid أَرخrecord the date
وَلِسان السُعود قَد قال أَرخ
زادgrew أُنساًin joy بِخَيرthrough the goodness of عامa year مُباركblessed
زاد أُنساً بِخَير عام مُبارك
And the tongue of good fortune has said: record the date—
And the tongue of good fortune said inscribe
He grew in joy through the goodness of a blessed year.
