أَيا طَلعة العليا لَنا بِالصفا جُودي

أَيا طَلعة العليا لَنا بِالصفا جُودي

فَقَد هَلَ مَولود المَكارم وَالجُود

فَقَد هَلَ مَولود المَكارم وَالجُود

O countenance of eminence, bestow serenity upon us.

O rising star granting us joy and generosity,

For the newborn of noble virtues and generosity has appeared.

The birth of the generous and noble has arrived.

هُوَ النجل محمود له الأَصل أَحمد

هُوَ النجل محمود له الأَصل أَحمد

لَهُ مَنشأ الجيدين مِن طيب العُود

لَهُ مَنشأ الجيدين مِن طيب العُود

He is the son Mahmoud, whose lineage stems from Ahmad.

He is the son Mahmoud, his origin is Ahmed,

He springs from two worthy forebears, of good stock.

From the finest lineage his noble roots have spired.

فَحَق لِأَهل المَجد أَن يَفرَحوا بِهِ

فَحَق لِأَهل المَجد أَن يَفرَحوا بِهِ

فَهَذا لِإِحياء المَجد أَول مَقصود

فَهَذا لِإِحياء المَجد أَول مَقصود

So it is fitting for the people of glory to rejoice in him.

To people of glory it is right to rejoice for him,

For this is the foremost aim in reviving glory.

For he is the first aim to revive vanished glory.

حَماه إِلَه العَرش مِن شَر حاسد

حَماه إِلَه العَرش مِن شَر حاسد

وَأَعطاه مِن نعماه أَعذَب مَورود

وَأَعطاه مِن نعماه أَعذَب مَورود

May the God of the Throne protect him from an envier's evil.

May Allah, Lord of the Throne, protect him from envier’s harm

And grant him, from His bounty, the sweetest watering place.

And grant him the sweetest gifts of favors stored.

وَلما اِستَهل المَجد قال مُؤرِخاً

وَلما اِستَهل المَجد قال مُؤرِخاً

إِليَ الهَنا مَحمود أَعظَم مَولود

إِليَ الهَنا مَحمود أَعظَم مَولود

And when glory dawned, it said, marking the date:

And when glory was born anew, the chronicler said:

To me comes joy: Mahmoud is the greatest newborn.

"To our God be praise, Mahmoud the greatest is born."
