Learning must indeed prolong its weeping.

And all people must answer its echo.

For Muhammad, possessor of lofty glory, has died.

He is the eminent al-Qusi, master of its radiance.

Thus, at his loss, learning, glory, and piety receive condolences.

For this is the one among us whose ransom is beyond reach.

Upon his grave, clouds of mercy poured forth.

And from the generous Lord he attained His favor.

Through him the gardens grew resplendent, and the houris recorded the date:

Muhammad—the gardens of eternity are his glory.
