سُعود الهَنا وافت بِأَكرَم مَولود

سُعود الهَنا وافت بِأَكرَم مَولود

فَنال الهَنا وَالصَفا كُل مَوجود

فَنال الهَنا وَالصَفا كُل مَوجود

The happy auspices of bliss arrived with a most noble newborn;

The good fortunes of joy arrived with the noblest newborn.

And so all creation attained bliss and serenity.

So every being attained joy and serenity.

وَتَمَت بِهَذا النَجل كُل مَسَرة

وَتَمَت بِهَذا النَجل كُل مَسَرة

لَوالده ذي الفَضل وَالعز وَالجُود

لَوالده ذي الفَضل وَالعز وَالجُود

Through this scion, every joy was made complete

And through this son every joy was made complete

For his father, a man of virtue, glory, and generosity.

for his father, possessed of virtue, honor, and generosity.

فَلَما بَدا المِيلاد قُلت مُؤرِخا

فَلَما بَدا المِيلاد قُلت مُؤرِخا

بِخَير الصَفا قَد طابَ مَولد مَحمود

بِخَير الصَفا قَد طابَ مَولد مَحمود

When the birth dawned, I spoke, setting down its date:

So when the birth occurred, I said, recording its date:

“In the finest serenity, blessed was the birth of Mahmoud.”

With serenity's goodness, Mahmud's birth was indeed delightful.
