نَبي الهُدى أَرجو شَفاعك الَّتي

نَبي الهُدى أَرجو شَفاعك الَّتي

لَكَ اللَه بَعد الرُسل أَجلى وَالها

لَكَ اللَه بَعد الرُسل أَجلى وَالها

Prophet of guidance, I hope for your intercession, which

O Prophet of guidance, I hope for your intercession

God made manifest for you after the messengers [the final word is unclear in context].

Which Allah has given you after the messengers, most gloriously

وَفي الهَول جاءَتكَ الخَلائق كُلَها

وَفي الهَول جاءَتكَ الخَلائق كُلَها

إِذا ما تَوالى الخَطب قُلت أَنالها

إِذا ما تَوالى الخَطب قُلت أَنالها

And amid the terror, all creatures came to you;

And in the terrors, all creatures came to you

When calamity followed calamity, you said, “I shall attain it.”

When adversities followed each other, I said I will reach it

وَقَد جَد بي وَجدي فَجئتك قاصِداً

وَقَد جَد بي وَجدي فَجئتك قاصِداً

لِتَشكو نَفسي ما دَهاها وَهالها

لِتَشكو نَفسي ما دَهاها وَهالها

And my yearning grew intense within me, so I came seeking you,

And I struggled, and came to you seeking

So that my soul might lament what afflicted and terrified it.

To complain of my soul, what confused and overwhelmed it

وَها نا راج مِنكَ حسن هِداية

وَها نا راج مِنكَ حسن هِداية

وَأَشفَقت مِن ذَنبي عَسى أَن أَنالَها

وَأَشفَقت مِن ذَنبي عَسى أَن أَنالَها

And here I am, hoping for good guidance from you,

And I feared my sin, perhaps I may attain it

And I feared my sin; may I attain it.
