هذا الختان وقد دعوه طهورا

هو العز في سمر القنا والقواضب
He is glory in the night sailing and boats
أعيدا حديث الأنس عن ساكن السفح
I repeat the sweet talk of the one who dwells on the hillside
بين الظبا والعوالي ترفع الرتب
Between the antelopes and the tall mountains, ranks are raised
يا ابن عبد العزيز أنت عزيز
O son of Abdul Aziz, you are dear
يا بني الغرب وكنا
Oh children of the West, you and we
فرح يزيد بقولها لا تبعد
Joy increases in her words, "Do not be faraway"
حي فحن له الفؤاد المدنف
The heart pined for him, though cloven in twain
حياكم الوجه الجميل المسفر
Your radiant, cheerful face welcomes
ولادته أرخ سروري وأمه
His birth dated my joy, and his mother
أقلا علي اللوم إني لفي شغل
Blame me less, for I am preoccupied
سلام ويا ليت السلام المسلم
Peace, and would that peace submit
من كان يطلب رأس العز يملكه
Whoever seeks glory's crown may gain it
يا طالب التصريح يا كيس
O seeker of permission, O wise one,
ومختصر الكلام فهمت منه
In brief, I understood from him
لمبشري بتمام عفوك ما طلب
For he who heralds Your full pardon, what else
ومن قاس الملوك على ديوك
He who compares kings to roosters
تملأ من شوقي إليك جناني
My longing for you fills my soul,
سقى الله من السقاية ما يبري
God quenched with water from this fountain, relieving
هب النسيم مع العشي عليلا
The breeze blew gently in the evening
أمر هذا الموت في الناس عظم
The matter of death among people is momentous
وردت بطالع اليمن السعيد
You came with auspicious rising fortune
تأمل بديع الحسن من صنعة الأيد
Observe the beauty of the craftsmanship
سرور عم حتى ما عرفنا
A joy known not before
طالع السعد بالميامن حيا
The auspicious star rose with good omens,
أقصر والتطويل في الشكر واجب
Whether too brief or too long, thanking is obligatory
صاغ الإمام العالم ابن الحاجب
The Imam, the scholar Ibn Al-Hajib
لك المثل الأعلى وللكاذب الفهر
You are the highest example, while for the liar there is disgrace,
بنى الباشا علي دار علم
Ali Pasha built a house of knowledge
يا سعد باسمك فأل من يستنطق
O Sa'd, I invoke your name, so who will speak?
علمت بأن غرامها في خاطري
She knew my passion burned for her in my heart,
تلاقي الشفا وعيون الأثر
You meet healing and the eyes of influence
مضت دولة الباشا علي كأنه
The reign of Pasha Ali passed as though
ألا هل إلى ما أبتغيه سبيل
Is there no way to attain my desire,
حاجة المدح لحلو الغزل
The desire of praise for the sweetness of flirtation
قد صافحته يد العليا وهام بها
The hand of the Most High has clasped his, and wandered with it,
وافى لتونس بايها الميمون
The auspicious Pasha Ali the Trustworthy
مضيت إلى ماضي بن سلطان صارخا
I went to the past of Ibn Sultan crying out,
عم ما أنت فيه عن كل حاسد ماكر
Stay distracted from every envious backbiter
يا ليلة بتها في شهر أيار
O night that lingers in the month of May
قم بليل يا نديم
Rise at night, O boon companion,
ملك عليه من الجلالة حلة
A king robed in majesty
يا نسيم الرقمتين
O breeze of the two meadows
لله ترب لاح مثل جنان
To God belongs dust, no garden is like paradise
هذه بيت تسر الناظرين
This is a house that brings joy to all who see it
أحسنت يا من تحرى
You have done well, O you who strove
جلب الماء زلالا ينهمر
He brought cool, cascading water
سقاك الغيث يا باب الجزيره
The rain quenched you, O gate of the peninsula
يا ليلة الأنس بالحمام لا برحت
O night of intimacy with the dove, your hours of beauty did not cease
أشعلت في كبدي جمر الغضا
She kindled embers of passion in my heart,
زين صدور المحفل
The adornment of the gathering halls
طالع اليمنِ مقبل في ازدياد
The auspicious star rises, growing,
هذا سبيل في سبيل مهيمن
This is a path in the path of the Protector
جدد هذا الباب باب الجديد
He renewed this gate, the gate of the new,
من كان قد شاد العلا فيما غبر
Whoever attained glory in the past
كذا فليجد من يطلب الرتبة العليا
Thus shall he who aspires to rank supreme find naught,
اللطف حف وكل حين يطلب
Kindness touched and every moment is sought
محاسن العيد يوم أن صفا الزمن
The joys of Eid when time is serene,
يا أهل مصر جادكم
O people of Egypt, your generosity
سعد السعود تجلى
Saad al-Saud appeared
عش بخير إثر خير
Live well after good
ختمك الجامع الصحيح كرامه
Your perfect and complete fasting has honored you,
يا ناظرا أسبل بخدك عبرة
O you who look, let your cheeks flow with tears
الحمد لله الذي أرشدنا
Praise be to God, who guided us
أحدث باب المسجد الجامع
The door of the grand mosque was opened
وظبي تهتكت في حبه
I was passionately in love with a gazelle
وساقية بيضاء غابت عن الحس
A white pitcher hid from sense
يا سيدي يا حمد
O my master O Hamad
هذا ضريح محمد الورغي الذي
This is the tomb of Muhammad al-Wargi
باشر سعودك ليس الوقت بالدون
Begin your joy, now is not the time for sorrow
قف واعتبر يا ناظرا هذا الرقيم
Pause and reflect, O passerby, upon this grave
أتاني أن منزلها الهضاب
News came that her abode was the highlands
سعيد المباني ما يطول ويمتد
تنعمت في الأضحى بإحظى من الفطر
قل للشهود تعزوا
يا فاضلا يزهو به المذهب
هذا ضريح للهمام الأمجد
جددوا الأنس بالمقام الجديد
ترحم إن وقفت هنا وسلم
الله يحفظ ما بوجهك صورا
هل أذكرتك العهد بعد تناسي
انظر لجسر ينجلي
هل في أمانيك ريب بعد أن نظرت
ذا ضريح حل قلبه
يا ناظر الموتى بعين باكية
شقيقك غيب في لحده
ما للشباب وللإقامه
فلا وليد عن الأرقال يعقلني
يوما أكون مع الملاح ممتطيا
عم ما أنت فيه عن كل ماكر عايق
ومالكي ما مالكي
تفاءل بمن تهوى يكن فلقلما
ذكرتها العهود نغمة حادي
هذي المخايل تشهد
