1. You have done well, O you who strove
With this sublime and glorious book,
١. أحْسَنْتَ يَا مَنْ تَحَرَّى
بِذا الكِتَابِ الجَلِيلِ
2. Bringing in it a gentle, refined eloquence
That reveals the refinement of taste of him it spared.
٢. إذْ جِئْتَ فِيهِ بِصُنعٍ
عَذبِ المَقَالِ نَبِيلِ
3. It is for this I have lodged it
In the house of sublime art-
٣. يُبدِي عَلَى مَنْ جَناهُ
فِي الذَّوقِ أيَّ دَلِيلِ
4. Your collection has gained knowledge
That has no equal.
٤. مِنْ أجلِ ذَا أرَّخُوه
في بَيتِ فَنّ أثِيل
٥. مَجْمُوعُكُمْ حَازَ عِلْماً
مَا إنْ لَهُ مِنْ مَثِيلِ
