1. The auspicious star rose with good omens,
His face bright, his forehead radiant.

2. When at his birth it was said, "O give glad tidings -
it's a boy!" We said, "We are pleased."

3. So fate began with the son of Jacob,
And ended with the son of Zechariah the prophet.

4. That is the praised Mahmoud the Righteous who appeared
After his Lord said, "Bestow on me a loyal minister."

5. "O Father of Muhammad, rejoice in your son!
In him your prayer was not unanswered."

6. He came to rule like the expert builder,
After they chose a faraway place.

7. God protected him as heir to his father,
And his father a helper to Uzayyah.

8. It was said of them when they dated it:
"We have bestowed on you a virtuous boy."
