1. This is the tomb of Muhammad al-Wargi
Whose excellence in every art cannot be denied

2. The art of poetry has ended with his passing
With sorrow, and his loss cannot be compensated

3. O how often his unique compositions displayed
Pearls strung with refined elegance

4. The blessed ink of time, the most pure, the most pleased
The unparalleled, the sublime, the eminent Imam

5. He served kings and attained abundant honor
And ranks beneath them, the elite

6. And he passed away leaving behind him a legacy of praise
For man in his life is not made immortal

7. He sought the Sustainer hoping for His approval
And pardon for all his misdeeds

8. When he passed away I inscribed his epitaph
"To please the Merciful the Imam Muhammad strove"
