- إذا سمعت حديثا عنك أحسبهIf I hear a tale of you, my heart pounds
- إذا عرس السارون في بطن زامرIf the thyme blooms in the belly of Zamr
- اذا كان عن فرط الملال التفرقIf it is due to extreme boredom, separation
- إذا كنت لم تشهد مكارم صاعدIf You Have Not Witnessed Makarem Rising
- إذا لم ترعني الحادثات فطالماIf Misfortunes Don't Take Care of Me, Then for So Long
- اذا لم تعدل قسمة الزاد بيننا
- أذم الزمان إلى حامديهI blame the times for those who disparage me
- أراع بما لا يراع الوليد
- أسعد بها يا قمري برزة
- أسؤال هذا الدهر ما أنا قانعThe question of this age, what am I satisfied with
- أشارت بأطراف لطاف كأنهاWith delicate fingers like polished pearls
- اشرب على مطر المصيفDrink in the Summer Rain
- أعد التحية يا خزامى بابلMy Friend
- أغباوة بالعرب والعجمFools Among Arabs and Non-Arabs
- أغره بناظر
- أقسم بالقادر في ملكهI swear by the Almighty in His kingdom
- أقل الله خيرك من زمان

- أقول لمعشر جلدوا ولاطواI say to a group who endured and mixed
- ألا ان وصل الغانيات غرورAla inna wusul al-ghaniyat ghurur

- أنفت من الضيم الذي لو رئمتهI seek refuge from injustice, which if I were to accept it
- إنما الناس من حذار النزالPeople Are Only Afraid of Arguing
- أي عذر للدهر أني معنىWhat excuse is there for time that I am troubled
- أي يوم من صاعد لم أرح فيهAny Day I Did Not Sail

- بنفسي من أسميها بستيMy Friend

- تصاحبني البيداء في كل مذهب
- تضاءل الدهر حتى ضاع في هممىThe Fleeting World Lost in My Aspirations
- تعجب من إيماضنا بالمناسمWonder at Our Fleeting Festivals
- تعرى كل أرض من فتاهاBare is every land of its youth
- تقول إن كلامي غير منتحلYou say my words are not plagiarized
- تكاد تنبت عيدانا يوافقهاYou transliterate my joys
- تكدرت المودة والإخاءFriendship and Brotherhood Have Become Tarnished
- تلوم وأي فتى لم يلمYou're Lamenting, What Youth Is Without Error
- تمنى رافع بالغيب مدحيMy Friend's Secret Wish for My Praise
- تنفست محزونا وليس تنفسي
- تؤمل بالأشعار أن تتمولاContemplating Poetry to be Funded
- ثن السر عن كل مستخبر
- جاء الشتاء وما عندي له عددWinter Came and I Don't Have Any Preparation for It
- جرت لك بالذي تهوى السعودGood fortune came your way, as you wished
- حفظ الله صاحبا كان ينبوعGod Save Who Was a Fountain
- حلف المفقع أنني في كفهI swear on the loud thunder that I am in his palm
- حللت بأعلى شاهق متمنعI Seek Refuge in the Most High, Lofty and Inaccessible
- حمى ظهره الأسد الأغلب
- حويت ريقا نباتيا حلا فغداDew I Sipped Became Sweet Nectar
- خف يا كريم على عرض يدنسه
- خلقت مشيعا أهوى الحماما
- خليلي ان قالت بثنية ماله

- رضاك ألذ من طعم الوصالYour Contentment is Sweeter than the Taste of Reunion

- رفعت لك القلل الطوال بعرعر
- رقت لنا حين هم السفر بالسفرOur Journey Was Pleasant When We Set Out On Our Journey
- ركبنا إليها السيل في الليل مقبلاWe rode the floods to her that night, advancing

- زعم الركب والاحاديث تنميSecluded No More
- سأحمل الشمس المنيرة والضحىI will carry the shining sun and the dawn

- عاين حبا كالحراج نعمهEyes Saw Love Like Autumn's Bounty
- عد خده منع الرقيبCount Your Blessings
- عرج على حرم المحبوب منتصباLean towards the sanctuary of the beloved erect
- عسى ممسك الريح القبول يعيدهاPerhaps the One Who Holds the Wind May Send it Back

- وافى الى وكأس الراح في يدهComing to his Drink with the Cup in his Hand
- وثبت الملال فلم أجلسBoredom Took Hold, So I Did Not Sit
- وجلال تاج الملة المنانGlory is the Crown of the Benevolent Faith
- وحول نقا سوالفه عذارAround its pegs he goes, explaining his sorrows
- وسما ابن حماد ففازVictory to the Son of Hammad
- وغادة تصحب المناياCompanions of the Flute
- وفدت فلم أترك مقالا لوافد
- وقاك الله فاغرة الرجالGod protect you, O empty of men
- وقالع من جنتي خدهGardens of My Cheek
- وقالوا اجمعوا ريعانها قد أتيتم
- وقد كلمت قلبي سيوف لحاظهI spoke to my heart, swords sheathed
- وقفنا على قبر العلاء بن صاعدWe Stood at the Grave of Ala' ibn Saeed
- وقفنا في ديار بني عديWe stood in the homes of the Bani 'Uday
- وكأنه في حجرها ولد لها
- ولا مسعد الا مسامرة سخت
- ولم أر مثل الخمر للهم شافياI have enjoyed the night with wine - And found no cure for care but wine
- ولما استقلت للرواح حمولهمWhen Their Souls Were Set Free From Their Burdens
- ولما نزلنا منزلا طله الندىWhen We Disembarked where the Dew had Fallen
- وما زالت غواة بني عدي
- وما شك ذو بصر اذ طلعتNone who sees clearly doubts, when you appear
- ومستثقل للشام عزمي وربما
- وناعورة قالت وقد حال لونها
- ويح قلبي من كاسر الطرف أضحى
- ويوم ترامى بالسهام لحاظهOn The Day His Tent Was Pierced By Arrows
- يا ابن يزيد سيد المحاشYa ibn Yazid sayyid al-mahash
- يا أم مقتحم العجاج الأقتم
- يا أيها الملك الذي أخلاقه
- يا دهر مالك لا تثني يد النوبO Time, why do you not refrain from harming the noble?
- يا دهر هل عاديت فيمن سادا
- يا سائق الاظعان أين تسوقO Driver of Sighs, Where Do You Drive
- يا صبغ رأسي والألى رحلواMy Friends Who Left
- يا عاتبا وعتابه افراقYa 'Atiba wa 'Utabuhu Ifraqu
- يا عيشنا والعيش أنت وإنماO our life, and life is but you, though
- يا عين والعاشقون قد عشقواO eye, though lovers fell in love

- يا كؤوس المدام أنت حرامYa ku'us al-mudam anta haram

- يا ليت شعري والعيش أطوارOh how I wish my poetry and life were phases,
- يا مصون الدموع في الآفاقO you who guards tears in horizons
- يا من أضر بحسن الشمس والقمر
- يا من ترى كل فوق عينه دوناYa man tara kull fawqa 'aynihi dona
- يا من رأى عارضا يصوب دما
- يا منزل الحي بسقط اللوىO dweller of the abode of life when the twisted branches are cast down,
- يا ناطقا كان فصل القول من خطلهMy Friend
- يا هل ترى زمن القرينة يرجعOh would the time of companionship return
- يا هند يا ذات البرى والخلخالO Hind, O Wearer of Anklets and Bangles
- يا واليا طالت ولايتهMy friend, your life is long, may you find peace
- يجد أخو الحرص في سعيهMy Friend's Quest
- يجر الصبا قلبى اذا جرت الصباThe East Wind Pulls my Heart when the East Wind Blows
- يشاورني في عطفه الغزو باسلAl-Ghazw bi-'Atifi Yushawiruni
