The tribe of Hamdan says you are a flatterer,

But what harm in that, if he has no wealth.

He has a racer that the wind cannot outrun,

And a dark brown bow of finest wood.

And a white sword of Indian steel, a broad pardon,

And a coat of double mail woven by David.

The gear of a man whom terrors cannot shake,

Who travels and camps in the blackness of night.
