- وإذا قرأنا هل أتىWhen We Read, Did It Come
- وأعين كالذري في سفلاتهEyes Like Dew in Their Depth
- والله ما اتخذ الكتابة حرفةGod, I have not taken up writing as a profession
- وتيهاء لم تطمث بخف وحافرDesert Solitude That Has Not Been Trodden By Hoof or Step
- وحبة من عنب
- وحبة من عنب قطفتها
- وحيت من فرط السرورI overflowed with joy
- وخط كأن الله قال لحسنهAnd a line as though God said to its beauty

- وشادن أحسن في اسعافهHis Helpfulness is Most Excellent

- وقالوا علي علا قلت لاThey said Ali is exalted, I said no
- وقائلة لم عرتك الهمومWorries, why have you known me
- وقد مضى يومان من شهرناTwo Days Have Passed in Our Month
- وقضيب من الخلاف بديعBeautiful Disagreement
- وقهوة قد حضرت بختمها
- وكاتب جاءنا بأعمىThe Blind Man the Writer Brought Us
- وكأس تقول العين عند جلائهاThe Cup and the Eye
- وكم شامت بي بعد موتي جاهلاAnd How Many Rejoiced at My Death in Ignorance
- ولما أبيتم أن تزوروا وقلتم
- ولما بدا التفاح أحمر مشرقاWhen the Apple Dawned Red and Radiant
- ولما تناءت بالحبيب ديارهWhen the Hometown of the Beloved Became Distant
- وما نال كعب في السماحة كعبه
- ومن لؤلؤ في الاقحوان منظمFrom Pearl in the Oyster Arranged
- ومهفهف حسن الشمائل أهيفBeautiful of Qualities
- ومهفهف شكل المجونThe Voyage
- ومهفهف يغني عن القمرThe Moon's Songbird
- وناصح أسرف في النكيرA harsh critic rebuked me beyond measure
- يا أبا الفضل لم تأخرت عناYa Abu Al Fadl Lam Ta'kharat 'Anna
- يا أبا القاسم قل ليO Abu al-Qasim, tell me
- يا ابن الخضيري لا تذهب على خجلO son of al-Khadiri, go not in shame
- يا ابن يعقوب يا نقيب البدور
- يا أصفهان سقيت الغيث من كثبO Asfahan, the rain has watered you abundantly
- يا أمير المؤمنين المرتضىO Prince of the Faithful Al-Murtada
- يا أهل سارية السلام عليكمO people of Sariya, peace be upon you
- يا أيها الشمس لا أن طلعتها
- يا أيها القاضي الذي نفسي لهO You, My Soul's Judge

- يا شادنا في صدغه عقربO one with a scorpion stinging his temple
- يا طالبا سمت الرشاد والسددSeeker of Righteousness and Success
- يا عائب الأعراب من جهلهYa 'a'ib al-a'rab min jahlihi
- يا غزالا عذاره كالطرازYa ghazalan 'adhara ka alttaraz
- يا فتى متوي رفقاO noble one, tread gently
- يا قاضيا بات أعمىO judge, now blind
- يا قمرا عارضني على وجلO Moon, Reveal Yourself to Me
- يا مالك الأرواح والأجسامO Owner of Souls and Bodies
- يا من وهبت له روحي فعذبهاO You to whom I gave my soul, and he tortured it
- يا موحش الإخوان عش مستأنساLonely One Among Brothers, Live Companionably
- يا وصل مالك لا تعاودO connection, what is yours that you do not repeat
- يصد الفضل عنا أي صد
- يقال تركت الذي حسنهIt is said you left the one whose beauty
- يقال لماذا ليس يسكر بعدماWhy Doesn't He Get Drunk After All This
- يقر بعيني أن يلم رسولها
- يقرع بالعود ثنايا لهاHe strikes the lute for her folds
- يقول الناس لي رجل سديدPeople say to me, "You are an honest man"
- يقولون لي أودى كثير بن أحمد
- يقولون لي كم عهد عينك بالكرىThey say to me, "How long have your eyes gazed upon the soil?"
- يقولون لي ما تحب النبيThey say to me, why don't you love the Prophet
