يُقالُ تركتَ الَّذي حُسنُهُ

يَكادُ يُخَجِّلُ شَمسَ الضُحى

It is said you left the one whose beauty

Nearly puts to shame the morning sun

فَقُلتُ وَشَمسُ الضُحى تُحتَمى

اِذا بَسطت في المَصيفِ الأَذى

So I said, and the morning sun takes cover
