وَلَمّا بَدا التُفّاحُ أَحمَرَ مُشرِقاً
دَعَوتُ بِكَأسي وَهيَ مَلأى من الشَفَق
When the apple appeared red and bright
I called for my cup, filled with sunset glow
وَقُلتُ لِساقينا أَدرها فَاِنَّها
خُدودُ عَذارى قَد جُمِعنَ عَلى طَبَق
And said to our cupbearer, pass it round
For it is the cheeks of maidens gathered on a tray
