Tell the minister Abi Muhammad, he who

Without his assembly, glory and prominence would fade

If time descends with its misfortunes

Or gets up, time the conqueror makes one sit

You quenched my thirst with a golden cup

Like fire in the light of a bottle burning bright

When the cloak of a fleeting world betrays

My patience and grieving heart are suppressed

And after you weaned me off it

I became one with enduring sorrow residing and stirring

Whence can I, however much I want to drink, find

Patience, O noble brother, to be found
