خَوَّفَني منجِّم أَخو خَبَل

تَراجُعَ المرّيخ في برج الحَمَل

A deranged astrologer's brother frightened me,

Saying Mars was moving into Aries.

فَقُلتُ دَعني مِن أَباطيل الحيَل

فَالمُشتَري عِندي سَواءٌ وَزُحَل

I said, "Leave me be with your deceptive tricks -

To me Jupiter and Saturn are the same.

أَدفَعُ عَنّي كُلَّ آفاتِ الدُوَل

بِخالِقي وَرازِقي عزَّ وَجَل

I will ward off the evils of fate

Through my Creator and Sustainer, the Almighty."
