- أقسم بالقيسين والنابغتينI swear by the two Qays and the two Nabighas
- أقسمت ما أبصرت عيني لها شبهاI swear my eyes have never seen her equal,
- أقمت لدين الله شتى المعالم
- ألا إن هذا السحر لا سحر بابلBehold, this is no sorcery of Babylon
- ألا أيها القلب المعنى صبابة

- أما فضائلك العظمى فلا يد ليFor your great virtues I have no thanks,
- أما مداك فغاية لم تلحقAma madaki faghayatun lam talhuq
- إن المطايا في السراب سوابحا
- إن تلقه تلق يوم الروع أسد وغىIf you meet him when fearsome lions roar,
- إن تلقه في يوم جود هامرHammer Day Goodness

- وحزبه الكافرين الخاسرين وقدAnd the party of the disbelievers who have lost

- ورجعت بالجيش الذي أخبارهAnd I returned with an army whose tales
