ولّى رمضانُ يَشِيدُ بِما

أعمَالُكَ فِيه تُشَيِّدُهُ

Ramadan has passed praising what

your deeds in it build up

صَومٌ ما مازجه رَفَثٌ

مَوفُورُ الأجرِ مُخَلَّدُهُ

Fasting unsullied by idle talk

Abundant in reward, immortalized

وَقِيَامُ الليلِ به شَهِدَت

أفناء القَصرِ وَمَسجِدُهُ

And standing vigil by night it witnessed

In homes and mosques

فاليَوم تزكى صَائِمَهُ

واللَّيلُ زَكَا متهجِّدُهُ

So by day its fasters are purified

And by night those vigilant in devotion
