لمن طلل دون الربا والتنائث
For those aspiring beyond greed and vice,
تواضع لرب العرش علك ترفع
Be humble to the Lord of the Throne that you may be exalted
إليك رسول الله أشكو تخلفي

نعم إن للبرق اليماني لوعة

لولا شذا من نشركم ينشق
Would that a breeze of your fragrance blows
يا ربة الستر لا انجابت غواديكي
O mistress of concealment, your valleys have not stopped being fertile
ما هز البرق سيفه أو ضحكا
Neither lightning brandishing its sword, nor laughing,
يا حداة الركب الحجازي ميلوا
O rider of the Hijazi caravan, pause
يوم أراك به فلست أصومه
The day I see you, I do not fast it
قد كف هوام لساني ويدي
My tongue and hand have been restrained from passion,
لله فتى مزق ثوب السلوى

من علم ذا الحمام شدو الشجن

لي بين سلع والعقيق عهود
I have pacts between Sula and al-Aqeeq
أبا صالح ما العيش بعدك صالح
O Abu Salih, life is not good after you,
