1. For those aspiring beyond greed and vice,
Shielded by hands from storms of ill device,

2. Loincloth rending through thickets in haste,
Feet of the valiant warrior outpaced,

3. Long-armed sword in hand, intent to smite,
With might to smite, forms of wine in sight,

4. Bold, if he meets a foe, that foe shall rue,
When fangs strike deep and blood starts to spew,

5. Beasts and he alike in spheres of danger,
Like wanton goats they warring strangers,

6. Plunging into the dark by instinct driven,
Keen in concealment, wasting flesh to bone,

7. Urging him on until he gets his way,
Seeker of lofty goals night and day,

8. I counseled him sincere advice to live,
If people err, them gentle counsel give,

9. Saying, if you seek safety and renown,
Shun misdeeds that bring existence down,

10. In the best exemplar mercy sent,
Through the best book revealed heaven-sent,

11. Of blessed birth and suckled purest milk,
To him a breast did flow and fruitful ilk,

12. Noblest hopes for one of high descent,
Galloping camels hoped he’d represent,

13. My master al-Hadi, Herald of the Sun,
Of generous clan, work rightly done,

14. Exalted of men, house of repute,
Purest honor, not like fools refute,

15. For progeny of Sam a minaret built,
Protection against the fabrications of guilt,

16. Attaining heights of glory perfect bloomed,
No humble nest for him pre-assumed,

17. Chosen by the Merciful from Hashim’s line,
Prophet and heir, of heirs most benign,

18. Kingdoms of heaven to help him prevail,
Against each betrayer alliance frail,

19. In every battle arms that never tire,
With stalwart comrades wielding shafts of fire,

20. All nobly born, defending with their lives,
And loyal Helpers against evil drives,

21. His pact honoring whilst still alive,
And when departed, pledges they survive,

22. When parties came to shatter them asunder,
He broke their ranks with lightning and thunder,

23. And at Hunain when Hawazin attacked,
With every rebel roused and turned their back,

24. Fleeing before his fist that struck like stone,
Leaving their bodies crushed and overthrown,

25. Chosen first, the best messenger sent,
Last prophet, too, blessings heaven sent,

26. Brought guidance path made smooth and plain,
News clear for seekers to attain,

27. But the blind he met, veils o’er their mind,
Straying endlessly, to idols blind,

28. Circling stones in ways absurd,
Saved them from lethal, fiery words,

29. Permitted good foods, made unlawful vice,
Taught the straight eight-fold noble device,

30. Proclaimed the Lord no child has bred,
No partner, son or second in stead,

31. Conveyed with candor, struggled without tire,
Against stubborn liars fed false fire,

32. Quenched flames of error, shadows lifted,
And brought out truth that darkness sifted,

33. Beacons of fact shone out bright day,
Path well-lit for those who walk its way,

34. Kept safe as babe and youth with grace,
Till God foiled foes who sought to debase,

35. Before that, in Mecca, God kept him whole,
From each betrayer with tainted soul,

36. Till the day he routed them in shame,
At Badr, cast in a hollow of blame,

37. And on the Conquest toward their abode,
With armies no muscles of hate could slow,

38. His noble tomb soaked with blessed rain,
Not vain showers of torment and pain,

39. Gardens of bliss spread o’er his sward,
Thickness thriving with shoot and shard,

40. Each morn God salutes with double lights,
Lasting gleams to grace the glorious sights,

41. Tombs of his best Companions now share,
Those clouds of gifts succoring all who care,

42. And family pure, his wives of repute,
From whom no evil did sprout or pollute,

43. All those who followed in his frothy wake,
For the world's gain did their beings forsake.
