1. O rider of the Hijazi caravan, pause
For in Numan there is rest for travelers

2. Let the mounts rest a while
From the hardship, leanness has revealed their beauty

3. And dismount the unburdened ones in Mina, where there is shade
For those who have descended, a little shade

4. And head for the hilltops if
The path to the Veiled Lady is clear

5. By that noble one, I found
My passionate love for him long and wide

6. His abode - long has it shone
With beautiful mercy for lovers

7. I lived among loved ones for a while
When no sadness clouded my hearing

8. Then the hand of fate acted, protecting
The pride of its quarters, hardening access

9. Except my love is constant, neither
Departing nor is my heart disloyal

10. I long for visitation despite the distance
And harshness that surrounds it and its plains

11. Where is one like us, a brunette whose protectors
Whose dusk has withered and thinned?

12. She of tender cheeks, graced with glory
And hers are might and brilliance, a crown

13. To the mighty and exalted she offers only
Submission and kisses

14. Will thirsty ones come to her sweet
Spring from which to quench thirsts?

15. The day she sets out, the camels moan
For her shelter, the steeds neigh

16. When she travels to Salu
At times crestfallen, at others cheerful

17. Passion leaps wildly for her
And the one who loves her has a guide

18. For hers are prosperity, fortune, victory, aid,
Good news, acceptance, and welcome

19. Of noble lineage, home of all virtue
And pride since the Prophet dwelt there

20. Ahmad of Hashim, most noble of Allah's creations
If lineages are enumerated, his is supreme

21. The glory of his grandfather Shaybah is praise
Upon him the spring rain poured though he was aged

22. Of Hashim bin Manaf, breaker of hunger
And hardships which assaulted

23. A lineage rooted in Quraysh, its branches
Below them, inclining this way and that

24. The Banu Kinanah won glory in it
Founded by Ismael

25. And indeed it was blessed, protected by The Preserver
The roots of this revered lineage

26. By it, Quraysh gained
A nobility no tribe gained before

27. The Chosen One superseded Moses and Jesus
As the Torah and Bible show

28. With him the best tidings were given to Isaiah
And Aziz, and after him Ezekiel

29. Tubba was guided by what was between the scriptures' covers
Of his traits which do not change

30. And Ka'b of The Owls opposed
The elders and youths among his people

31. Speaking of the Prophet centuries before his birth
A wise and noble orator

32. Recalling the sending of the Prophet and the victory
Of his supporters, had life been long

33. To Shaybah al-Hamd the sword was unsheathed
Adorned for him, to him it would return

34. He stood in the seasons a witness
That he was a prophet, a messenger

35. The monk saw prophecy draped
Over him, like a lantern

36. When above him he saw a cloud shading
Inclining wherever it inclined

37. Among the monks' testaments the best guide
Was Salman, wandering through countries

38. He saw in him the true signs
So he was certain, a welcomed disciple

39. His closeness sufficed him for glory
Below him was Gabriel

40. He is the seal, specially chosen for
Completion and the vision, the beloved noble one

41. O beloved of The Merciful, you are the hoped for
The intercessor, the trusted

42. We came to you with needs so ask
Your Lord for ease, He is the best Trustee
