1. I have pacts between Sula and al-Aqeeq
Time passes, yet their memory is ever new

2. Days when I revelled in the robes of youth
And the garment of intimacy warmed me

3. In the expanse of contentment with consent
My soul within it, a bird, trills

4. A sanctuary wherein the garden of meanings blooms
For those with hearts, its shade outstretched

5. Each night for the lover is perfect
The night of consummation, each day a feast

6. A man who spends his morn and eve ardently
At his scented grave the ground is joyous

7. Were it not for him, the memory of the tormentor would not hurt my hearing
Nor would his mention have stung like hornets

8. I draw him near with the dreams of sublime illusion
Though his tomb is far away

9. With passions I fold towards him
What no legs hastening can traverse

10. Alas! for times that seemed
In the bosom of time’s days, knots

11. Did they promise between the domes – but can they
Return like our past days, repeating?

12. My longing for the one whose longing, if
Affection diminished with distance, would grow

13. If I die of fervor for them and my infatuation
I'm a martyr slain by the swords of passion

14. How can we meet with the one I love
When the barren Hijaz and Tihama lie between?

15. A raincloud giving drink to departing encampments
Nobler than settlements, undying

16. Planets adorning the sky of bounty
With its heavens and their stars, Saud

17. A meadow of glory no plain can rival
For one who returns to be generous

18. A rain of gifts and dew pouring upon
Fresh blooms, freely bestowing

19. For him the gems of propriety were collected
Through him, triumph and support were established

20. He is the firmly rooted mountain of virtue
Whose pillars the sun-like nobles lean upon

21. In him are majesty, awe, guidance
Righteousness, piety and munificence

22. Upon him the banners of glory are tied
His lofty standard waving

23. Gardens whose flowers I pick for him
Until his pool brims over

24. What a fine messenger whose light dispelled polytheism
From us, and through whom pure monotheism thrived

25. He is the witness we trust, though his traits
Among the generous are well attested

26. O best of those whose Mount Radwa faces him
And throngs from the lowlands flock to him

27. O you through whom the clans of Hashim
Became lions the bravest of men revere

28. You remain especially entitled to all the greetings
We are bound to send, which he accepts

29. Brought by a noble angel conveying
What no messenger can bear to relate
