1. Yes, indeed the Yemeni lightning has a yearning
That has vagueness amongst the ribs' curves

2. And the fluttering of the breeze, when it glides
Over elongated flowers while they are sick

3. Has a spirit that shakes youth so it's as if he
Flies longing and the wing is prepared

4. I asked you, O you whose determinations have become
For them in seeking grand deeds an endeavor

5. His ambitions have transcended so his determinations have become
Steeds with which he roams the sea of glory and wades

6. When he comes to water, water of abundance
And the destinations stretch before it to wade

7. So he introduced to his family with the passion of his love
A long, intimate bond with the people of Hejaz

8. And say: Does an ardent lover who craves the mention of you
As days have passed by him persistently

9. Have a way to a life spent near you
And a passed youth that does not return

10. My heart was healed by passion for my loved ones
And I cannot be deterred from them, recompensed

11. If only the mounts were to head towards their land
Even if they crossed the deserted plains

12. For the one who raised between Sule` and Qubā’
Domes covered in awe-inspiring whiteness

13. In it there is a spring that quenches every knower
And a meadow for the pure of heart to rest

14. Lo, O pillars from the land of Yathrib
Where groups of angels never cease

15. A sanctuary for Allah’s Messenger has become fragrant
Shrubs as if musk is flowing in it

16. A prophet who renewed religion after its lessons
And directed the arrow of guidance so it is shooting

17. And he faced harm from his people yet he is patient
And passed by the palm trees overflowing

18. So he settled in the cave of Hirā' and his period
In every way to the wilderness trotting

19. So the spider weaved over him its web
And the pigeon remained at the door whitening

20. He came with guidance while people were in the drunkenness of desire
And to them the praiseworthy matter was hated

21. Amongst them is clamor they do not understand as if they are
Due to weakened minds to gnats likened

22. For him in fighting the people is an impenetrable shield
And a drawn Indian sword dashing

23. A brown spear and a white bow
Polished and bow with arrows readied

24. So how many in the battlefield were his horses’
Prey at spearheads scattered

25. Until the tyrants after his youth
Became meadows of religion while it was blossoming

26. Generous, magnificent in miracles through his status
He grew rain fertile and time constricted

27. The well’s water became from the grace of his saliva
A river flowing so it does not diminish

28. And the army truly from his palm’s fingers
Water pouring into a vessel gushing

29. It narrated the echo from the rough terrain of Ḥāʾil
Empowering it though it is slippery

30. And the lions submitted to him until they
Crouched at the door of al-Baqīʿ

31. So O dispeller of harms and healer of who
None but days have made ill and withering

32. All virtue and poverty are gathered in you
So none tired in describing you, composing

33. Your traits are a threaded necklace articulated
Adorned with prose and embellished verse

34. Your praise is treasure in my life and supplies
When rhymed prose is obstructed, strengthening

35. With it you ascended the top of a lofty steep mountain
So after that lowland does not please me

36. And be for me a protector from the perils of trials
From the Generous One to the despised life make easy
