1. God watered the protected land with abundant rain
When storm clouds gathered in its sky

2. So arbitrate for us among its folds
A beloved, did we neglect him or did he shepherd?

3. And he lived in the valley of Al-‘Aqeeq
With ample, fertile dwellings

4. We enjoyed his company for a time we did not remain
With those who plot against us or strove

5. So God has a secret plan for him
He who endowed him with the most

6. There intents are fulfilled
For those who silently wished or prayed openly

7. So can I return to his land
Traversing the meadows, wandering, wandering

8. That I may drink deep from his water
Quenching, though who am I to drink deep?

9. It braces the broken-hearted
And uplifts those laid low

10. Happy are those who journey towards it
Dismounting, though it remains beyond reach
