1. Why are you so eager for sins?
And averse to obeying the Most Merciful?

2. Tomorrow when I am brought barefoot,
Trembling before the Reckoning like a coward,

3. My loyalty will be to the rightly guiding Announcer, Muhammad,
Eagerly looking forward to meeting him again.

4. The Chosen One, my father al-Qasim, is better
Than those who secretly betray the pilgrims.

5. The best visitor in Al-Basitah is Arqala,
Whose answers call out the young women.

6. A Prophet who was spoken to by his Lord,
Uniquely distinguished among the Messengers.

7. God, the Protector, supported him in his youth
And caused terror with his staff among the people.

8. Clement towards the sinner, kind, unifying,
Merciful in seeking benefit for mankind.

9. A shining lamp, wise and eloquent,
When the hands of misguidance recoiled.

10. He came to people with a message from his Lord,
And was a clear proof for humankind.

11. Until I heard his brilliant lights
Rising on the horizon.

12. O Messenger of God, you whose virtues
Were declared in ancient times and difficult ones.

13. If only I could see your ghost in the land
Or your path would guide me with a ray of light.

14. My praise is dedicated to you so it belongs
To no one but you alone.

15. When poetry is composed in your honor
It comes refined, lucid, unambiguous.

16. Describing you gives understanding a light
As if plunging pearls into the deep, tumultuous sea.

17. And mentioning you, my master, helps my distress
And cleanses my heart of doubts.

18. And comforts my solitude and isolation
If I am confined to the grave of Ali the valiant.

19. Help me, for I am in a time of calamities
With no ally among the men but like a feeble spark.
