1. Is your face the dawn light that shines bright?
Or the full moon in its perfection, illuminating the darkness?

2. Or the morning sun in its happy abode?
And your branch, is it the lover's night when it grows calm?

3. And the private flash, is it your mouth's light when it smiles?
And your blossoming, is it pure musk that gives off aroma?

4. The armies of beauty came to you willingly in their entirety
Thus you became a king in beauty, crowned

5. So the verses of hearts became captives
To you, and they had no escape

6. So blessed is the servant whom you are his master, he rose
Among the people of insight and wisdom

7. Will you then bring dreams of a glance from you
To uncover some worries from me and relieve?

8. For the denial of your visage has hurt me
Just as the abandoned house's separation pained me

9. We sped the camels to you until you took
Near you a place to rest, a meadow delighted

10. So our nearness was not less than our farness
And the joy of the heart closer than sadness

11. So my heart belongs to God the day we reined in our mounts
And left a shadow near you swaying

12. I hoped that nearing the house would extinguish sorrow
But longing only increased and burned

13. Will the mounts have a return to you
Passing the rugged and long road?

14. Hurried by the early guide, departing
To you, traversing the expanse of the white desert

15. With it the people of morning traverse, as though
They traverse the vast, stirred sea

16. When they rise high on the camels in the hidden of night
You'd think them ostriches in the darkness wandering

17. Upon them are men complaining of the pain of passion
As they complain in their journey of bodily pain

18. They have yearning at dawn and yearning
For you when the night grows dim

19. They visit a pasture filled with the scent of morning
Lit by your face, more shining than icicles

20. Your protection denied every darkness erasure
And every wish from it became fruitless, for he who wished

21. Spacious earth of little rain whose picking is eased
For he who turns to it seeking refuge and survives

22. When the weary seeks him expectantly
Harm and distress clear from his door withdrew

23. To you, Messenger of God, I present my praises
That you may gain from their recitation, proliferation

24. And dress them in your flower-like traits
Of no brilliance and a meadow made of your adornment

25. I took the cure you clarified for hearts' sickness
As you were healing before Aus and Khazraj

26. You were a prophet before Adam, hoped for
To open a door to guidance sought

27. So you came and the path of righteousness was most plain
And you clarified in it for all a clear approach

28. And you established the flags of guidance anew
And you were armed for the struggle heavily clad

29. And you sharpened the arrow of religion until you steadied it
While twisted in the knot, bent

30. So the face of truth shone bright in the open
By your light, and falsehood gloomier Place for meter in original

31. And the Merciful made you enter with truth an entrance
By which we exited the circle of polytheism an exit

32. So best of those who tied mounts for argument
And held horses for the struggle and saddled

33. And if hardship encompassed all people
They sought refuge in him and found relief

34. And if the defiant were engulfed by fire tomorrow
For his nation from hellfire he is an exit

35. Save me, for I have awoken in a time whose
Bare ground pricks those gentle of dream

36. Seventy has whitened the youth of my face
So by the moons' succession, it became creased

37. And I have needs which God knows best
I spend the night with them, discomforted by worries

38. And I do not see a helper to whom I complain
My passions, so I only increase burning

39. And I have no auspicious one in my day but you
If the heart is shaken by the terrible events

40. Because you are to God the most successful intercessor
To avert afflictions and adversities hoped for

41. Upon you, God's peace, whenever darkness looms
And the shining dawn splits bringing light

42. Extending to your lofty quarter, yearned for and dark
