كأن قطا العين الذي خلف ضارح

Like a cat with eyes that lurks behind a hunter

يثبون أرحاما وما يجفلونها

تواعدنا أضاخهم صباحا

O my home in Salma in Harouriyyah become safe

هل بالديار الغداة من صمم

Is there in the abodes at dawn a steadfast one

ألم تسأل الدار الغداة متى هيا

Did you not ask the abode one morning when it would be inhabited

الحمد لله لا شريك له

وهم دلفوا لهجر في خميس

جزعت وقد نالتك حد رماحنا

دار حي كانت لهم زمن التو

أكظك آبائي فحولت عنهم

وأخرج من تحت العجاجة صدره

أين الشظاظان وأين المربعه
