1. May Allah reward the tribe of Qurrah with triumph
And Qurrah when some heroes slipped

2. Shame departed from all faces so they shone
Though previously it clung there unremovable

3. Today they are kings though kings have vanished
In deed and glory though uncrowned

4. ‘Imran ibn Murrah's onrush retrieved their loss
At Qarah, beloved place where war flames burned

5. Like towering mountains you'd think them halted
While the litters swayed and the mounts shifted restlessly

6. When dawn came their women tightened the links
Of the mail coats and busied themselves

7. By a live fire they warmed themselves as though they were
Herds the herdsman had stoked to a blaze
