- وسقم فؤادي من سقام جفونهAnd my heart's sickness comes from the languor of his eyelids.
- وشادن أهيف حيا بنرجسةAnd a slender fawn offered a narcissus in greeting,
- وفتية لم يزالوا طول يومهمAnd young men who remained the whole of their day
- وفي الظعائن مخطوف الحشا غنجAnd among the women in litters is a slender-waisted, coquettish one,
- وما الناس إلا فعالهمAnd people are nothing but their deeds;
- ومن جرحته مقلتاك نويرةAnd whoever your two eyes have wounded, Nuwayra,
- يا أهل غرناطة نيكواO people of Granada, fuck your Sumaysir!
