O seeker of generosity, take heed and leave
O seeker of favors, leave behind you
the land of Almería, and reject Ibn Sumadih.
The abode of doubt and spurn the flattering son of Sumadh
رَجُلٌa man إذاif أَعْطَاكَhe gives you حَبَّةَa seed of خَرْدَلٍmustard
رَجُلٌ إذا أَعْطَاكَ حَبَّةَ خَرْدَلٍ
أَلْقَاكَhe casts you فيinto قَيْدِthe fetters of الأسِيرِthe captive الطَّائِحِfallen
أَلْقَاكَ في قَيْدِ الأسِيرِ الطَّائِحِ
