سقتني حميا الحب راحة مقلتي

شربنا على ذكر الحبيب مدامة

أرى البعد لم يخطر سواكم على بالي

I see distance has not occurred to anyone but you in my mind

هو الحب فاسلم بالحشا ما الهوى سهل

Love is agony, so surrender to passion, for love is no easy path.

يا حادي قف بي ساعة في الربع

O driver, stop by me for an hour in the wilderness

ما أصنع وقد أبطأ علي الخبر

What shall I do, for the news has been delayed for me

زدني بفرط الحب فيك تحيرا

Increase me in excessive love for you, confused

قد راح رسولي وكما راح أتى

My messenger has come and gone

أهوى رشأ كل الأسى لي بعثا

صد حمى ظمئي لماك لماذا

إن مت وزار تربتي من أهوى

سائق الأظعان يطوي البيد طي

ما اسم بلا جسم يرى صورةً

ما اسم إذا فتشت شعري تجد

ما اسم لطير شطره بلدة

عرج بطويلع فلي ثم هوي

هل نار ليلى بدت ليلا بذي سلم

ما بين ضال المنحنى وظلاله

يا راحلاً وجميل الصبر يتبعه

أهوى قمراً له المعاني رق

يا محبي مهجتي ويا متلفها

ما جئت مني أبغي قرى كالضيف

عوذت حبيبي بربِ الطور
