- سقى دمن الحي الحيا المتفائضMay overflowing rain water the tribe's deserted camps,
- سلم على شيخ النحاة وقل لهGreet the master of grammarians and tell him:
- شيوخ البيان الذائقين حلاوةMasters of rhetoric, who have tasted a sweetness
- غرام سقى قلبي مدامته صرفاPassion gave my heart its wine, unmixed,
- فالأولياء رحمة للخلقFor the saints are a mercy to creation.
