قد نزلنا بروضة وغدير
We have descended in a meadow and stream
برز احسائك في سبقه
Your feelings emerged in their nobility
دهتك بعلة الحمام فوز
Your illness has granted you triumph, my love
لي صاحب في حديثه البركه

هريقا دما إن أنفذت عبرة تجري
My tears flow like blood if lament pours forth,
تهزىء مني وهي رود طله

ياساريا حيره ضلاله
O my companion, his misguidance has confused him,
إن العيون إذا مكن من رجل
When eyes grant power over a man’s heart,
يتمشى في ثوب عصب من العرى
He walks in a dress of woven misfortune
زعمت عاذلتي أني لما
My accuser claimed I was wasteful
هجرت الهوى أيما هجره

وعازب باكره القر الفرط

إذا لم يزرني ندمانيه

ظبي كأن بخصره

وفي الناموس ذو الناموس
يري الغزاة بأن الله همته
سالت مسايل عارضيه
شباب كأن لم يكن
أبدى له إلفه تدلله
سألنا عن ثمالة كل حي
رأت عدمي فاستراثت رحيلي
ولاح الصباح فشبهته
ويلي على أغيد ممكور
مكتئب ذو كبد حرى
يا قمرا قد صار مثل الهلال
هي النفس تجزي الود بالود أهله
فررتك يا جذعا يسنه
شربت مدامة وسقيت خلا
ولي أمل قطعت به الليالي
أجر على سنام الأرض ذيلي
القلب بعدك لم يسكن إلى سكن
قل ليحيى مللت من أحبابي
بنيتي أصبحت عروسا
إن السرور تصرمت أيامه
لي أخ لا يرى له
عذرك عندي بك مبسوط
أقبر أبي أمية لو علاه
أي أمر حازم ركبت
هو والله منصف
صرفت هواك فانصرفا
وهتكن ثني الليل عن
لما رأيت الديك قد صاحا
الموت عندي والفراق
كأنني عانقت ريحانة
قلت له إذ مر بي فردا
عتبي عليك مقارن العذر
أيها اللاحظي بطرف كليلِ
النفس تسخو ولكن يمنع العسر
ما للسماء عليه ليس تنفطر
هواي هوى باطن ظاهر
تكلفني إذلال نفسي لعزها
لو جاد بالمال أبو رهم
طيلسان لو كان لفظا إذا ما
موقف للرقيب لا أنساه
