1. He obeyed religious duty and tradition
His youth enamored of intimacy and jinn
١. أطاع الفريضة والسُّنَّة
فتاه على الأنس والجِنَّهْ
2. As if for us without him is the fire
And God singled him out for Heaven
٢. كأنَّ لنا النار من دونه
وأفراده اللّه بالجَنَّهْ
3. He looks at me when I visit him
With the eye of a protector toward his tribe
٣. وينظر نحوي إذا زرته
بعين حماة إلى كَنَّهْ
