- اشمخ بأنفك يا ذا العرض والحسب
- اصبر النفس على مر الحزنPatience of the Soul Through Sorrow's Passing
- اصبر لها صبر أقوام نفوسهمPatience for her, the patience of people whose souls
- أعزز علي بأن تكون عليلا
- أقسى من الحجر الأصم فؤاده
- أقول إذ غيبوك واصطفقتI say, as they hid you and hands
- أقول إذا ما بدا طالعا
- ألا لله ما جنت الخطوبAlas! What disasters fate has wrought
- ألا من عذير النفس ممن يلومهاAlas! Who excuses the soul for blaming her
- الآن قام على بغداد ناعيهاNow Her Mourner is Risen over Baghdad
- البر بي منك وطا العذر عندك لي
- ألم تر أن الشيء للشيء علةAlam tara anna alshay'a lilshay'i 'illah
- ألم تر أن خير الناس أودىAlam tara anna khayra alnnasi awda
- ألم تعجب لمكتئب حزين
- ألم يسلك عن نعم
- الويل إن كان الفراق دنا
- أما القباب فقد أراها شيدت
- أما إلى الله أخلفت ميعادي
- أما شبابي فلم أذمم صحابتهMy Youth, I Did Not Blame Its Friends
- أما من حكم يعديIs there no judge to pass
- إن الخلافة أصبحت سراؤهاThe Caliphate Has Become Its Palaces

- دفع الله عنك نايبة الدهرGod has warded off from you the vicissitudes of time
- ذهب الحزم واستمال بي اللهPatience Has Left, God Has Befriended Me
